Dr.Sowby has been practicing optometry in the community for decades. He is a nationally known, award-winning author with over 50 professional papers published in 27 countries. He has given over 50 professional speeches at local state and national optometric conventions. He has been President of local San Fernando Valley Optometric Association. He has also served as an officer in the American Optometric Association. He has been active in local civic and church affairs and has been a member of the local Lions Club and Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years.
